Good style is more than being well-dressed. It is an attitude. It is about honesty, respect and responsibility. And we want to transfer these values into our products. We hope to share the charismatic attraction of individual pieces from small batches that are made to last and develop a strong character over time. Try to live more thoughtfully and sustainably.
Wether young or old, blue collar worker or CEO, Steve Jobs or Steve McQueen, everybody is wearing jeans. This garment is simply the one for all. Jeans are versatile and durable, they are honest and charismatic. For us it is the greatest garment of all time.
Today’s jeans are often no longer an honest product. Cheap fashion jeans for 19€ produced in inhumane conditions flood the market and make clothes a disposable item. Expensive designer jeans made in low-wage countries with extreme mark-ups are not really a conscionable alternative. And the jeans we love so dearly, high-end selvedge denim – made in Japan -, is unaffordable to many of us denim lovers.
Instead of chasing the fleeting trends of fashion we want to focus on timeless products and to making superior denim in small batches affordable. We make sure that our jeans are produced fairly and sustainably in the EU without compromise. And with your support we can afford to do it without the luxury mark-up.
I’m a denimhead since I was 15. I’ve been working in the denim industry as a buyer and creative director for nearly 10 years. Collaborations with well-known denim brands from the USA and Europe (e.g. Rogue Territory, Edwin, Nudie Jeans) have given me an initimate look into this industry. Now I’m setting up MADE IN TRUST to bring my experience and knowledge into this project. I think it’s time to change the way things done. It’s not about reinventing garments. I’m a modern traditionalist and it’s about making significant clothing valuable again.
